Currently, I am on the pre-health track, which means that I am taking many science and lab based courses. For example, last year, I was enrolled in two biology classes that I really enjoyed. As a result, the connection between my academic learning and my summer internship at National Jewish Health has been clear and easy to make. Many of the scientific concepts and laboratory techniques that I had learned about and observed in lecture have been very prevalent these past few weeks, and it was cool to see them finally come to life and be applied in a real lab setting. Overall, my internship has been very academic focused and somewhat familiar, so the transition has not been too difficult in that sense.
I believe that the skills and knowledge that I have gained this summer can easily be applied to my school work next year. I will be taking a few more science classes, so this experience as an intern should help me in those courses. I also hope to join some labs at Princeton and continue within this field of work.
